How to replace the 2021–2026 Ford Bronco key fob battery
- Press the release button and pull out the metal key blade
- Behind where the blade sat, twist a thin coin under the hidden tab to lift off the battery cover
- Ease the old cell out with a small screwdriver, keeping clear of the circuit board
- Fit the new CR2450 with the + side facing up
- Clip the cover back on, slide the key blade in and test the buttons
Confirmed in the 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 Bronco owner's manuals (CR2450 in all). Replacing the cell does not erase the key's programming.
After you change the battery
- Press lock and unlock from a few metres away. The car should react on the first press.
- On push-button start cars, start the engine once with the fob in your pocket.

About the CR2450 battery
CR2450 is a 24.5 mm × 5 mm, 3 V lithium cell with a typical capacity of about 620 mAh. The same size is sold as DL2450, ECR2450, 5029LC. A CR2430 has the same diameter but is thinner, so it can fit loosely and runs down sooner. Stick with CR2450.
